Industrial property applications hit a record high during 2019 first half
In the first 6 months of 2019, the NOIP has received a total of 55,047 IP applications, up 15% compared with the same period last year. The processing of IP registrations hits a record high of 66.8% growth over the same period of 2018, in which the processing capacity of inventions and trademarks are particularly high at 79.2% and 83.8%, respectively. Patents, trademarks and utility solutions applications of Vietnamese people as well as appealing applications which were not addressed several years ago are now handled and addressed, resulting in an increase of 50% over the same period of 2018. The NOIP has also granted a total of 16,285 IP objects (up 12.9% increase on year).
In addition, the NOIP has also finished drafting the National IP Strategy vision to 2030 to submit to the Prime Minister. Another task such as amending the current IP Law and Insurance Law to submit to the National Assembly for approval was already done. At the same time, the NOIP is also developing the amended version of the curent IP Law to submit the Government for approval in next October.
